She is also doing a research on Determinants of Nurses Intention to use e-learning for Informal Learning in Tanzania.

Abstract

Tanzania is among the countries striving to attain knowledgeable and skilled health workers who are capable of addressing health challenges facing its population. In a trend of years the number of health workers specifically nurses has been increasing however, their ratio per population size is still far below as per WHO recommendations. Due to the advancement of science and technology, there is a need to undertake further lessons to upgrade professional skills and knowledge. However in regard of nurses shortage in number, tight schedules sending them away from work place for further lessons is a challenge as will result into insufficient health services due to their absence. Therefore, to address such challenge, Amref Health Africa in support with Ministry of Health, Community, Development, Gender, Elders and Children (MOHCDGEC) has introduced e-learning mainly for nurses to upgrade their professional skills while they are still at their working place. However, despite its existence use of the e-learning is still a challenge as only 4.9% of the nurses are using the platform. Therefore, this study aims in investigating the determinants of nurses’ intention to use e-learning for informal learning in Tanzania. The findings of the study will be used to propose possible strategies to improve the nurses’ intention and adoption of the e-learning.
